5. Formation of specific groups of cooperating companies for common access to new markets
Inter-firm cooperation/collaboration is the new response to competition - a way for
firms to develop joint solutions to common problems. In theory a group of small
companies (SMEs), working in unison by pooling their resources and collaborating on
projects of mutual benefit, should be able to better compete with larger
companies. Working together could make SMEs more able to compete in global supply
chains Co-distribution is where a company requires access to new markets in order to
expand. By working with a partner, it gets access to markets in which the latter has
already got a means of distribution. Together they can offer a wider portfolio of
products and services for distribution in these markets. WWM offers support in planning
and coordinating of common sales offices in new markets. |
